And one example of that is the biggest retailer aims its gigantic footprint at a new market. We all know Walmart more or less and it's a gigantic retailer. That Walmart, in September 2019, Walmart opened its first Health Center, a medical mall where customers can get primary care, vision tests, dental exams and root canals; lab work, X-rays and EKGs; counseling; even fitness and diet classes. We know in US healthcare is very expensive and without insurance a patient is in big trouble. So let's talk about the price, at those Walmart medical mall the prices are affordable without insurance
and have you think about the business potential of this? it's huge! Now let me explain you why, In any given week, the equivalent of half of America passes through a Walmart! Wanna know the number? Total population of america is around 330 million. How many people shop at Walmart in a week? 275 million weekly customers! Sean Slovenski, a former Humana exec who joined Walmart last year to lead its health care push said - “When I first started here … [I] thought, That can’t be true,” says . If the concept spreads, repercussions await in every direction. Like Walmart’s merchandise suppliers, doctors and other medical pros may need to adjust to the retailer’s everyday low prices. Still, cautions Moody’s analyst Charles O’Shea: “Health care is multiple times harder than selling food." But hang on until now we just talked about USA. Now let's talk about the global opportunity this initiative is going to take. Walmart has total 11300 stores globally, 2.2 million employees! And among those 11300 stores, around 5993 stores are outside USA. And also keep that in mind, each of those numbers are changing, changing in positive direction.
